8/25/2023 0 Comments Disk drill mac 10.6.8– Hold down the “Option” key during boot unti you see the boot selector menu, then choose “Install OS X Mavericks” – Connect the bootable USB Drive and startup/reboot your Mac. – Now is the time to backup any files you’d like to save. Mavericks 10.9 supports direct upgrades from Snow Leopard 10.6, Lion 10.7, or Mountain Lion 10.8. – The USB Drive is now a OS X Installer but it’s also bootable, now it can be used for upgrading from older versions of Mac OS X. – Exit out of terminal when complete, and in finder you’ll see “Install OS X Mavericks” – Once initiated you’ll see a progress indicator – The whole command string is on a single line, replace “untitled” in the volume path with the name of your USB Drive. Sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia –volume /Volumes/untitled –applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app –nointeraction – Choose “Partition” tab, select “1 Partition” from the Partition Layout Menu, then click “Options” and choose “GUID Partition Table” then “OK” – Open Disk Utility, and select external drive **Takes a couple of hours to download, because it is like 4.5-5 gig.** – Go to the “App Store” and download OS X Mavericks.It’s free. I think I have come across this issue twice in a span of a week where people have had issues with their Macs and needed to have a reinstall. It’s always a great idea to have a backup bootable disk in the event your computer goes wonky and you want to start from scratch.
